We are very happy to welcome our new Visiting Fellow, Arun Chavan, to the KLI.

Arun is a developmental evolutionary biologist, currently working as a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Immunobiology at Yale School of Medicine. He is interested in how new anatomical structures and levels of organization originate in evolution.

Arun will be a Visiting Fellow at the KLI from June 1 to July 31, 2026.
His KLI project is titled “Evolutionary Origin of Vertebrate Digestive Organs” and aims to investigate tissue-level homology and how new levels of biological organization arise.

We wish Arun a fruitful time at the KLI and in Austria.
