We are very happy to welcome our new Visiting Fellow, Pierrick Bourrat, to the KLI.

Pierrick is a philosopher of biology at Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia.
His work focuses on core concepts of evolutionary theory, such as fitness and heritability, as well as evolutionary transitions in individuality. His other interests include causation, the interplay between biological and cultural evolution, and the evolution of religious beliefs.

Pierrick will be a Visiting Fellow at the KLI from April 18 to May 2, 2026. His KLI project is titled “Linking Fitness and Evolvability Across Levels of Description”.
